[Former Director of Cultural Heritage in the Junta de Castilla y León]

Urban Architect by the Escuela de Arquitectura de la Universidad de Valladolid and Diploma in "Liderazgo para la Gestión Pública" by IESE Business School | University of Navarra, he was, from 2003 to 2019, General Director of Cultural Heritage of the Junta de Castilla y León and member the Spanish Heritage Council. Among other works, he currently leads the international technical team responsible for the application for the inscription of the Cluniac sites in Europe on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Spira organizes the Iberian Biennial in partnership with the Ministry of Culture / DGPC (Directorate General for Cultural Heritage), the Ministry of Economy / Turismo de Portugal, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs / AICEP - Portugal Global, the Junta de Castilla y León and the Millennium BCP Foundation, under the high patronage of the Presidency of the Republic, and with the institutional support of the National Commission for UNESCO.
