JANTAR DEBATE SOBRE GESTÃO DE CENTROS HISTÓRICOS,

COM INTERVENÇÃO DE CARLO FRANCINI, DIRECTOR DO CENTRO HISTÓRICO DE FLORENÇA

O caso de Florença leva-nos ao coração da gestão de um dos casos mais relevantes no contexto dos Centros Históricos: com uma área total de 102 km2, cerca de 370 000 habitantes, classificada de Património da Humanidade desde 1982, Florença recebe, actualmente, cerca de 15 milhões de turistas ao ano. Evidentemente, perante estes números, os desafios da gestão deste Centro Histórico de relevância universal são de grande envergadura.

Carlo Francini

Carlo Francini, historiador de arte, é, desde 2005, gestor do sítio Património Mundial da UNESCO “Centro Histórico de Florença” e responsável pelo Gabinete do Património Mundial de Florença da Câmara Municipal de Florença. Na sua longa carreira na gestão do património, Carlo Francini desempenhou funções cruciais como mediador entre entidades locais públicos e privados e organismos internacionais, assim como ao nível da UNESCO.

Desde 2009, assumiu adicionalmente o cargo de coordenador científico da Associação Italiana do Património Mundial, além de coordenar o HeRe_Lab – Heritage and Research do Município de Florença e da Universidade de Florença – laboratório de investigação aplicada a temas sobre património no contexto da cidade Património da Humanidade.

Spira organizes the Iberian Biennial in partnership with the Ministry of Culture / DGPC (Directorate General for Cultural Heritage), the Ministry of Economy / Turismo de Portugal, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs / AICEP - Portugal Global, the Junta de Castilla y León and the Millennium BCP Foundation, under the high patronage of the Presidency of the Republic, and with the institutional support of the National Commission for UNESCO.
