About the event

Exemplar de casa angrense, situado no gaveto da rua Direita, com a travessa de Santo Espírito, de características construtivas que remontam desde a segunda metade do século XVI até ao século XIX, onde se pode observar a influência da vivência exterior da cidade, não só na sua fachada com o aumento de vãos, ritmados e varandas corridas, como no interior, o estilo de vida de família abastada, incluindo um espaço ajardinado com um chafariz. A torre mirante, elemento emblemático, e único, possuía vista panorâmica da baía de Angra, até ao século XVIII, obstruída posteriormente, com a elevação da Igreja da Misericórdia, sendo, no entanto, ainda possível avistar alguns dos edifícios públicos religiosos mais emblemáticos da cidade, como o convento de S. Francisco, o Colégio de Jesuítas e a Igreja da Sé de Angra. Destaca-se também, na sua base, a existência de uma arca d’água, elemento único, que faz parte da Ribeira dos Moinhos.
